ASSIGNMENT 2
Friday,
Hey!!!
Uhh….we were feeling sleepy in morning and madam came in class showing a cellphone type device named as gps device.I thought again a new boring thing to study but I was wrong ,it was very interesting.we went out on field for survey. We were divided into 2 groups of 6 people each.
In the device there were many things to know like:
1)Sun-set and sunrise time
2)Route Navigator
3)Waypoints
4)Odometer
5)Elevation
6)Rate with which we move
7)No. of satellites above our position.

Actually at starting we were at D2(physical science block) and we noted the latitude and longtitude of the place and then marked it in device . Then we moved to D4(academic block) and marked that point too . Again we moved to the third point to check what all things are changing and how the elevation is changing with the place. Now we had to move back to initial position ,so we went back by the help of Gps device.

There was a option in device which shows the path between the marked points.
So that’s all where class got ended.I know you were interested to know more about this , so as we. Following are some coordinates related to field survey:-
initial position coordinates are:

N 08D 37' 29.7"
E 077D 01' 56.3"

elevation 102m

final position coordinates are:

N 08D 37' 32.2"
E 077D 02' 02.5"

elevation 107m

1 degree of latitude corresponds to a distance of 111 km on the ground.
1 degree of longitude corresponds to a distance of 111*cos(latitude) on the ground.
North South distance is 77.08 metres
East West distance is 189.3 metres.
The actual straight line distance between the two points is 204 metres
